RULES & REGS

  1. Format

  • The rounds shot will be:

    • Portsmouth (round 1-4) – 5 Dozen arrows at 20 yards on a 60cm face

    • WA18 (round 5) – 5 Dozen arrows at 18m on a 40cm face
       

  • ​There will be 5 rounds over the course of the season:

    • Round 1 = September – October

    • Round 2 = November

    • Round 3 = December – January

    • Round 4 = February

    • Round 5 = March
       

  • The highest score for each archer within the relevant period should be submitted. Only one score per archer, per bowstyle will be entered into the overall results. If multiple entries are submitted, only the highest score will be used.

  • These scores must be shot in competition or under competition conditions at a club practice session.

    • Competition conditions shall be taken to mean either double scoring or someone else scoring the archer’s arrows. 3 arrows are to be shot at a time with 6 arrows for sighters only.

  • Score-sheets should be submitted to the club’s nominated E-league point of contact as they will be contacted in case of any queries.

  • There is no requirement for all club or team scores to be shot on the same day

  2. Eligibility
  • Any archer eligible to compete at BUCS Archery events are eligible to compete in the E-League (for full list of regulations, see here).

  • Novices are defined as per BUCS regulation "ARC 3 Eligibility for Novice categories":

    • ​Only individuals who have not held insurance with an Archery Governing Body prior to, and who have commenced shooting since, 1 September of the current academic year, shall be eligible for entry into Novice categories.

  • Novices may represent both a Novice team and a Division 1 or 2 team should their score rank highly enough within their institution to be included in the overall team scores.
     

  3. Teams
  • Division 1 Team Competition: Non-Compound (4 archers)

    • All Recurve, Barebow and Longbow archers are eligible for this team.

    • Universities may enter more than one team at a time.

    • The top 4 scores from one club will be taken for the division 1, 'A' team.

    • Only the highest score from each archer will be considered in any one round.

  • Division 2 Team Competition: Non-Compound (4 archers)

    • All Recurve, Barebow and Longbow archers are eligible for this team.

    • The second four highest scoring archers from each club will be taken for the division 2 'B' team, and the third four highest scoring archers from each club will be taken for the division 2 'C' team.

    • An archer may compete in more than one team (A/B/C etc.) over the course of the E-League season.
       

  • Novice Team Competition: Non-Compound (3 archers)

    • All Novice Recurve, Barebow and Longbow archers are eligible for this team.

    • All novice teams shall compete in one division.

    • Universities may, again, enter more than one team per round if their numbers warrant it.

    • The first three highest scoring novice archers from one club will be taken as the 'A' team score, the second three highest scores will be taken for the 'B' team, and the third three highest scores will be taken for the 'C' team.

    • A novice is an archer is defined as a person who has not held insurance with an Archery Governing Body prior to, and who has commenced shooting since, 1 September of the current academic year

    • Novice scores may be appear twice per round in team scores – once for a Division 1 or 2 Team and once for a Novice Team.

  • Team Competition: Compound (2 archers)

    • All Compound archers are eligible for this team regardless of experience.

    • Universities may also enter more than one team, should they have the numbers.

    • The first two highest scoring archers from one club will be taken for the 'A' team, the second two for the 'B' team, and the third two highest scores will be taken for the 'C' team.

  4. League Points 
  • Points will be awarded to both individuals and teams depending on their ranked placement in a given leg.

  • The archer/team ranked 1st in their category will be awarded 20 points, those in 2nd will be awarded 19 points, and those in 3rd will be awarded 18 points down to the archer/team in 20th who will be awarded 1 point.

  • Archers/teams ranked below 20th place will receive 0 points.

  • League points are summed across each leg to give each team or individual a final placement.

 

  5. Incomplete Teams
  • Universities may enter incomplete teams for any of the rounds. 

  • League points for an incomplete team will be awarded as if a complete team was entered.

  6. Gender Categories
  • For the University Archery E-League, the following gender categories will apply:

    • FEMALE = Anyone who identifies as female​

    • OPEN = Anyone who does NOT identify as female

  • IMPORTANT NOTE: These categories only apply for E-League. BUCS and other local archery leagues may have a different policy - always check before entering.

  7. Submitting Scores
  • To enter the E-League, teams are required to sign-up using the form on the current season section.

  • Teams are able to enter up until the submission deadline for round 5.

  • After signing-up, each team will be given access to a Google Sheet submission form via. email to the main team contact specified in the sign-up form.

  • For entries to be accepted, they must include all of the following information in the Google Sheet:

    • Full Name (make sure this is spelled correctly and consistently across rounds)​

    • AGB Number

    • University & Leg Number (should be pre-filled but ensure any extra entries include this information)

    • Bowstyle

    • Status (Experienced/Novice)

    • Gender (Open/Female)

    • Score

    • Hits

    • 10s

    • Date shot

  • At the end of the submission period, the tab on the Google Sheet will be locked and scores can no longer be added or edited.

  • Any entries that do not include all of the above information will not be accepted.

  • Scores will be processed and released as soon as is possible.
     

  8. Score Queries

  • If any problems or errors are noticed within the scores, please make the Virtual Competitions Officer aware BEFORE the release of the next rounds results.

  • If a problem is raised after the next rounds results are released, amendments may not be possible.
