ABOUT THE E-LEAGUE

What is the E-League?

Currently in its third iteration, the E-League is a virtual competition for UK students in which novice and experienced recurve, barebow, compound and longbow archers submit scores in order to win league points.

E-League has existed since 2002, with brief breaks and major improvements made between 2004 and 2005, and again in 2019. The current format allows any archer at a UK university to compete against each other virtually over the indoor season. Archers shoot Portsmouth scores (rounds 1-4) and WA18 scores (round 5) under competition conditions in order to see who scores the highest.

League points are awarded to the top 20 ranked archers and teams, with the archer/team placed 1st receiving 20 points, those in 2nd receiving 19 points and so on until 20th place receives 1 point. After each round, league points are summed together and the archer or team with the most points at the end of the E-League Season is crowned the winner!

Both experienced and novice team awards are available for recurve, barebow and longbow archers, with a combined experienced team award given to compound archers.

When does the E-League take place?

The E-League runs every year in line with the academic year indoor season. There are five rounds in total:

Round 1 = September - October

Round 2 = November

Round 3 = December - January

Round 4 = February

Round 5 = March

See the Rules & Regs page for exact timing details for this seasons competition.

How do I enter?

Entries for E-League are managed by a designated representative at your university archery club. This is usually the tournament officer, or a different member of committee.

If you are your clubs' tournament officer, you can find the sign-up link at the top of the current seasons' page! Once you have signed-up, you will receive a link to a Google Sheet which is used to collect your teams monthly scores.

If you are an archer at a university without an archery club, feel free to get in touch and we can work out a way for you to take part!

ABOUT THE SUMMER RANKINGS

What is the Summer Rankings?

The Summer Rankings are another way for students to compete against each other virtually. Archers submit three outdoor scores (minimum 6 dozen arrows for each round) and their relevant handicap values. At the end of the outdoor season, the three handicap values for each student are summed and archers are ranked.

Overall rankings of students across all bowstyles and categories are reported, as well as rankings split by bowstyle, experience category, and gender category.

Unlike E-League, Summer Rankings are managed by individual archers. For more information, and to sign-up, go to the Summer Rankings page.
